Team and leadership development that transfers to real work

Experiential team and leadership development built around hands-on Kintsugi practice.

The gap

Insight is not the same as changed behaviour.

The programme lands well. People are open, the conversations are real, the feedback is warm.

Weeks later, the energy has faded. The language stays; the behaviour returns to what it was.

And the organisation — the part that has to show something for the investment — sees no durable shift in how leaders act under pressure.

This is the gap SAWA was designed to close.

The SAWA difference

Research. Practice. Anchoring.

Most leadership programmes create insight. SAWA is designed to help that insight travel back into the work.

01

Research

PhD-grounded thinking that brings intellectual rigour to leadership development.

02

Practice

Hands-on Kintsugi work that turns reflection into an embodied experience.

03

Anchoring

A structured approach that connects learning to real organisational contexts and continued application.

Three disciplines. One practice.

Founder & Principal — SAWA Leadership · Dubai, UAE

Samia works at the intersection of three fields that rarely meet: organisational consulting, academic research, and the Japanese practice of Kintsugi. SAWA is what happens when they are brought together in one method rather than kept in separate rooms.

Her doctoral research examined the internal architecture that limits advancement — the part that structural change alone does not reach. That research became the foundation of the SAWA framework and of Women in Gold.

About SAWA Leadership

SAWA Leadership is a Dubai-based leadership and team development practice founded by Dr. Samia Jamai, working with organisations across the UAE, MENA and internationally.

What is SAWA Leadership?

SAWA Leadership is a Dubai-based leadership and team development practice founded by Dr. Samia Jamai. It combines PhD-grounded organisational research, hands-on Kintsugi practice and structured anchoring, so that what happens in a session is carried back into how a team actually works.

Who does SAWA work with?

Primarily HR and L&D leaders in organisations across Dubai, the UAE and the wider MENA region, as well as senior leadership teams, family businesses and next-generation leaders, and women leaders. SAWA also works with international and cross-cultural teams.

What is the SAWA method?

Four phases: Situation, Approach, Workflow and Anchoring. The work starts from the organisation's real situation, agrees an approach, designs the workflow of experience and reflection, and finishes with anchoring — how the learning returns to everyday practice.

Why Kintsugi in leadership development?

Kintsugi, the Japanese practice of repairing ceramics with gold, gives leaders a physical, shared experience of repair rather than an abstract discussion of resilience. It is the embodied practice within the SAWA method, not the method itself.

Where does SAWA deliver its programmes?

SAWA is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and works with organisations across the UAE and MENA, as well as with international teams. Format, language, duration and location are agreed with each client.
